Fresh Dog Food Delivery: Easy, Healthy & Dog-Approved
Providing your dog with top nutrition doesn’t have to be challenging. With our fresh dog food delivery, you’ll always have plenty of food on hand for your furry friends, and Wag Tantrum offers unparalleled nutritional support. Let’s take a quick look at fresh dog food and why Wag Tantrum could be a great option for your canine companions.
Why Fresh Dog Food?
As a dog parent, you have many dog food options including canned food, kibble and fresh dog food. Through the years, our dogs feasted on various canned and kibble varieties, but we created Wag Tantrum and made the switch to fresh dog food to extend and improve the life of one of our own precious pups.
Our puppy, Lily, was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor and, in general, was a picky eater that often suffered from digestive issues. After a ton of research, we decided that carefully formulated fresh dog food was the best option for her and once we made the switch, Lily thrived.
Our research showed that canned dog food and kibble, even some of the most expensive brands, were filled with chemicals and preservatives. Additionally, the grain sources tended to be cheap fillers such as corn or soy rather than grains that provided any real nutritional value.
In addition to the fillers and chemicals, these foods typically were created with the absolute worst cuts of meat and poultry, sometimes even from diseased animals. Even the animal feed given to these cattle and poultry tended to be filled with suspect ingredients.
As humans, we know the dangers of eating a diet heavy in low-quality grains and proteins, not to mention the dangers of heavily processed foods in general. We know that a diet of fresh, unprocessed high-quality grains, proteins, veggies and fruits is the best option for our health and it’s just the same with our dogs.
The Wag Tantrum Difference
There are many fresh dog food brands out there, and some of them do offer excellent nutritional support while others still tend to include ingredients that aren’t the best option for most dogs.
At Wag Tantrum, we are committed to providing dogs with the highest quality fresh organic dog food using only human-grade ingredients. Our small-batch food contains no GMOs, no corn, no soy, no wheat and no fillers.
We only use quality ingredients such as certified USDA organic beef and organic poultry, organic grains (organic quinoa or organic brown rice) and organic veggies. After these ingredients are cooked, we mix in a special blend of vitamins and other nutrients to ensure that your furry companion has complete nutritional support.
Each item was chosen for its specific nutritional properties. For instance, we chose organic broccoli because it is rich in many vitamins, including A, B, C and K. Broccoli also is rich in fiber, which can improve digestion.
Organic squash is another ingredient we chose for its complex nutritional profile. Squash also can aid digestion and is rich in potassium, folate, magnesium and more. The organic carrots we add provide plenty of vitamin A and fiber. By the way, a bit of fresh carrot can be a great treat for your sweet pooch, it’s wholesome and munching on a carrot can be good for your dog’s teeth.
While some dog parents prefer the idea of a grain-free diet, we do add brown rice or quinoa to all of our flavor varieties. These are highly digestible grain sources and both pack more of a nutritional punch that the typical grains, such as corn or soy, that so often appear in the ingredient list of traditional dog foods.
Every component of our human-grade dog food also meets standards set by the Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO). No matter what fresh dog food brand you eventually select, we highly recommend that you choose a limited-ingredient option and that the company adheres to all AAFCO standards.
Changing Your Dog’s Diet
While our fresh dog food can provide your sweet dogs with all of the nutrition they need, it is recommended that you slowly make the switch from their current dog food to their new Wag Tantrum diet. It should take about a week to make the switch, but if your dog is prone to stomach issues, you could transition more slowly.
For the first two days, feed your dog about 75% of their current food and mix in about 25% of Wag Tantrum. For days three and four, use a 50-50 mix of Wag Tantrum and their old food. For days five and six, you can serve 75% of Wag Tantrum and just 25% of the old food. By the end of seven days, your pooch should have successfully transitioned to 100% Wag Tantrum.
It is important to note that some of our clients use Wag Tantrum as a supplement to their dog’s regular diet. For instance, some customers mix a bit of Wag Tantrum in with kibble for extra nutritional support and to boost the flavor profile. Picky eaters love Wag Tantrum and if your pooch turns up their snout at kibble or other dog food, mixing in a bit of Wag Tantrum can be a great option to consider.
